Phase 1: Decisions

When your marriage is in crisis you are experiencing marital difficulties. During this time, you have many decisions to make including whether to stay together, reconcile your differences, separate or divorce. Sometimes the choice is simple, at other times it is complicated. Regardless, a CCD professional can help provide you and your spouse with the services you need to better assess your options and evaluate your choices so you can resolve your issues.

Common Problems in the Decision Phase
  • Lack of information about options in choosing the process of your divorce:

Any of our legal, mental health or financial professionals can assist you with information about using mediation, collaborative law or a consulting attorney to reach a settlement and stay out of court. Our members offer services to meet your needs depending on the complexity of your situation.

  • One of you wants to reconcile, separate, or divorce, and the other does not.
  • Your marital difficulties are extreme, resulting in high conflict.
  • You have difficulty communicating.
  • You have a high level of complexity in a difficult marital situation (finances, children, assets).
  • One or both of you lack commitment to the 'marital contract'.
